Bangkok Randomness

Upon arriving in Bangkok, you could tell you were still in Asia, but it was a little more developed than Ho Chi Minh City. Things were a little bit more organized and the buildings were a lot bigger! There were also actual highways and a lot fewer motorbikes.

I stayed close to Khao San Road in Bangkok. This is the main backpacker street and it’s a pretty cool place, but I can imagine getting sick of it fast. It was cool to see all the tourists and locals trying to sell you useless stuff but you can only do so much of that! I got in to my hostel, dropped my stuff off and then just grabbed dinner and a beer.

Comfiest beds I slept in the entire trip! Highly recommend.

The next day I went to the Grand Palace and saw a few temples with a friend I met at the hostel. She had been traveling for 10 months – crazy!

At night, we grabbed dinner and ended up meeting a couple from the UK. That was really cool – we were at this outdoor bar which had a live band. They were playing a bunch of Bob Marley songs and were quite good!

The next day, I took the ferry down the river. At this point, everything’s foggy since it was a couple of months back... but I did a whole bunch of random things.

How people get to work!

Walked through a local park... had a gym, did not work out.

Went to a really fancy mall...

...to use the bathroom.

Some sort of dessert thing.
