Tuesday Grind

This was such an exhilarating day! I really wanted to try the grind and only had the last morning left and decided to try and make the most of it. So, I woke up at 5 am and headed out – the goal was to be back by 10:30 am to shower and check out of the Airbnb.

I took the subway to the water and then caught a ferry and a bus to Grouse Grind. It was about an hour journey. I picked up A&W and snacks at a 7/11 as the Grind is 1-2 hours and very steep! I was pretty determined and was able to do it in about an hour and 20 minutes. This gave me time to hang out at the top, wait out the fog for a more scenic view and see the resident grizzly bears.

Breakfast of Champions 😅

The craziest part was how sweaty and hot you got despite the temperature dropping. Once you get to the top, there is still snow even though your shirt is soaked in sweat!

The gondola down also had amazing views and I ended up meeting a retired gentlemen who does the grind every couple of weeks for exercise. He offered to drive me back to the city and even stopped along the way at a few viewpoints near Cleveland Park / Dam and Lions Gate Bridge.

I got back to my AirBnB around 10:30 am which left just enough time for me to shower, pack my final things and head right to the Airport for my afternoon flight!
