When checking in, I met a fellow Canadian from Montreal who used to work in Hong Kong. He was back in town for work and to visit some friends. He was going to breakfast (dim sum) and invited me to join. It was a local joint, the type where you were not going to drink the water as a foreigner. The staff walked around with carts and you simply ordered off the cart and they stamped your card. We had beef balls, dumplings, and chicken feet (for breakfast!). The food was really good and I cannot remember ever eating that much meat for breakfast. Chicken feet were interesting – if not for the bones, I would have assumed they were wings.
Feet of the chicken
Other less exciting food...custard buns, beef balls, and I forget but it was goood!
The place where we went for dim sum was close to Central, which is the main business district in Hong Kong. There were nice malls and buildings here and so he showed me around a little bit.
Mmm...
Challenge not accepted.
The rest of the day I spent on the other side of Victoria Harbor. I stopped by the clock tower, got soaked in Tsim Sha Tsui, which had a lot of fancy shops and restaurants, and then wandered through Kowloon Park.

There are some cool birds in Kowloon Park but sadly in captivity. And its actually so pointless, I seemed to be only person who stopped to see them.

Since it was raining, I figured a museum would make sense and went to the Hong Kong Museum of History. I am not big on museums, but would highly recommend it! They have free Wi-Fi (obviously essential) and was perfect for a rainy day. I learned a lot about the history of Hong Kong.
After the museum, I decided to head back and check out the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade by the harbour. People run/walk here but in the Hong Kong heat and with the humidity, I have no idea how they do it!

Just a boat
Just a taxi

Just a ship
Instead of taking the subway back, I took the Star Ferry, which is in fact cheaper than the subway. Its like 50 cents and you get some awesome views of the harbour instead of being underground smelling people's armpits.
